SkirtSports Supports 55-Year Old Grandmother In Seven Continent Marathon Journey

SkirtSports, creator of the original fitness skirt, is pleased to support Linda Quirk on her “7 on 7” international journey, running one marathon on each of the seven continents throughout 2008. A compassionate runner, Quirk, is competing in the seven marathons as part of her goal of raising one million dollars for Caron Treatment Centers - the drug and alcohol treatment center that helped support her stepdaughter in reclaiming her life. In addition to outfitting Quirk with apparel for all of her races, SkirtSports is supporting Quirk’s mission by offering a 15% discount to all online shoppers, with proceeds benefiting Caron Treatment Centers.

The goal of Quirk’s heralding feat is to help raise money for Caron Treatment Centers' addiction scholarship program, aiding families in paying for drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Caron is a nonprofit addiction treatment center that helps those affected by alcohol and drugs and their families begin a new life. The organization falls close to Quirk’s heart, as her stepdaughter began her journey from methamphetamine addiction to recovery at Caron Renaissance in Florida.
With a passion for running, Quirk has also completed numerous extreme races including many Ironman full, half and Olympic distance triathlons, including: Ironman Florida, Long Course Worlds in Sweden, Ironman Lanzarote, Ironman World Championships, Kona Hawaii and Ironman 70.3 Worlds in Clearwater, Florida.
Beginning her journey with the nation's premiere Boston marathon, and continuing to China (Great China Wall), Easter Island, Africa (Kenya) Quirk is now preparing for Iceland (Reykjavik, Australia (Melbourne) and will complete her seventh marathon on Antarctica.
