SkirtSports Announces the Inaugural Austin SkirtChaser Race

(Austin, TX – October 4, 2007) SkirtSports, creators of the original fitness skirt, is opening registration for their first SkirtChaser 5K race in Austin, TX today. The SkirtChaser event is designed as a fun mixer for men and women to “work hard and play harder.” The event will kick off with an all-women’s start, followed by a men’s “skirt chaser” start three minutes later and will conclude with a post-race happy hour.
Race participants will receive a SkirtSports Skirt (women) and SkirtChaser tee (men) with their $55.00 entry fee, a pair of DeFeet high-performance socks, as well as a free drink ticket to use at the post-race happy hour. The winner of the SkirtChaser race will receive special “Skirt-worthy” attention and prizes.
“The SkirtChaser 5K will be unlike any race you’ve ever run” said Meg Gill, Project Manager of SkirtSports. “Our goal is to bring both women and men together to celebrate fitness and socialize in an atmosphere that is friendly and encouraging.”
True to the style and flavor of SkirtSports fashion, the post-race events will include a happy hour with “Skirtini drinks,” live entertainment, and a fashion show.
SkirtSports products, sold through Bettysport of Austin, will be for sale at the event as well as various other local Austin sponsors involved in the race.
Registration for the SkirtChaser 5K can be found at www.skirtsports.com/race/austin, along with details of pre-race day and race day events. Entries are limited so early registration is encouraged. For participants also attending The Running Event (Nov.11-14), a special “Convert to Skirt” offer will be available until November 1st. Receive a free race entry and Skirt (or SkirtChaser tee) with your Running Event badge by bringing in an old pair of running shorts on race-day.
